Nomenclature The species was considered a junior secondary homonym of Euchilus gracile Sandberger, 1872 by Wenz (1925), who classified both species in Stalioa and introduced S. rzehaki as replacement name. Although both original names are not considered congeneric anymore (see Schlickum 1968, Kadolsky 1993), the replacement name remains valid according to Art. 59.3 of the Code, because it is indeed in use (e.g. Čtyroký 1972).
