Status Gyraulus sulcatus (Logvinenko & Starobogatov, 1966) is a junior secondary homonym of Gyraulus sulcatus (Hilgendorf, 1867). Moreover, the species' identity is uncertain. It resembles the Caspian species G. eichwaldi and G. kolesnikovi in outline shape and differs only in the more pronounced angle between whorl flank and apical plane and the shallow furrow on the apical side. An in-depth revision is required to clarify if Gyraulus sulcatus (Logvinenko & Starobogatov, 1966) is a distinct species or a mere morphotype of G. eichwaldi (Clessin & Dybowski in Dybowski, 1887). [details]
