Classification The genus attribution to Haitia is uncertain. That genus is often considered a junior synonym of Physa or Physella. Moreover, there are no other fossils currently attributed to Haitia, and the extremely long temporal gap between recent species and this late Cretaceous fossil casts considerable doubt on this classification.
