Type locality "Telankhedi [3 miles W. of Nágpur city], Tákli [2 1/2 miles N.W. of Nágpur city], Butara [near Machhaghoda, 100 miles N of Nágpur city], and Karwad [3 miles W. of Chikni]", India. These correspond to Telankhedi, which is today within the city limits of Nagpur, Takli and Kharwad in the State of Maharashtra and Bhutera (W of Machaghora) in the State of Madhya Pradesh. [details]

Status Hislop (2008) introduced the names Limnaea telankhediensis, L. telankhediensis var. peracuminata and L. telankhediensis var. radiolus.
