However, Swainson spelled the genus Leiostomus and Leiostoma; the former was selected as the correct original spelling by Cox [1931, Proceedings of the Malacological Society of London, 19(6): 291] and is a junior homonym of the fish genus which was originally spelled Leiostomus.
