Taxonomy Combination used by (a. o.) Paetel (1887:221). Winckworth & Tomlin (1933:210) used the name Dolium lischkeanum for the species currently referred to as Tonna tessellata (Lamarck, 1822). Cernohorsky (1972:110) listed lischkeanum Küster, 1857 incorrectly as synonym for Tonna dolium (Linnaeus, 1758) yet the corresponding figured specimen (pl. 31, figs 2-2a) is indeed a specimen of Tonna lischkeana (Küster, 1857).
