Type species Cossmann [1901, Essais de paléoconchologie comparée, 4: 141] selected Pseudoliva kellettii A. Adams [an originally included species] as type species, but it was described only on 16 May, 1855 [Proceedings of the Zoological Society of London, 21: 185] and was a nomen nudum when Macron was established. The only other originally included speces - aethiops - is thus the type species by monotypy. [details]
