Type material The type locality of Pustularia cicercula takahashii is Haleiwa, Oahu, Hawaii. The type specimen is deposited in the Smithsonian Institution, USNM 1090937. The holotype was collected by Chris Takahashi at 35 ft, under ledges on white and orange sponge alongside orange cup coral [details]

Additional information See photo below by David Lum of several live specimens of Pustularia cicercula takahashii collected in Hawaii by David Lum on a single dive in 2006.
