Nomenclature Intended as a replacement name for Amusium japonicum formosum Habe, 1964, non Amussium formosum Melvill, 1907, but not available because it was introduced as a form name after 1960 and is therefore infrasubspecific. Dijkstra (1998) unintentionally validated his name by using it at the subspecies rank, but by then Habe (1992) had independently replaced the name with Amusium japonicum taiwanicum. [details]
