Synonymy Clear spelling mistake - together with the recombination in Turritella - of the Turbo suturalis Wood, 1828, which is considered a nomen nudum. Name Turritella suluralis rendered available by Gray in Griffith & Pidgeon, 1833 by mention on pl. 13, fig. 5 and a description (under the epithet Turritella suturnalis [sic]) on p. 600.Petit & Coan (2008:238) suggested this could possibly be an earlier name for Eglisia tricarinata Adams & Reeve in Reeve, 1849, yet examinations under the WoRMS LifeWatch Project 2014 by the present editor have shown it to be related to Wood's species, which is identical to Eglisia spirata (G. B. Sowerby I, 1828) [details]
