Homonymy Alvania fenestrata Gould, 1861, is a secondary junior homonym of Alvania fenestrata (Krauss, 1848). However, Alvania as currently used may not be monophyletic, and after revision these two species may very well end up in different genera. It is not advisable to establish a replacement name for the junior name.  [details]
